Do it now!

The person born with a talent, they are meant to use will find their greatest happiness in using it.

If we delve into it further, talent is nothing without dedication and discipline, and dedication and discipline is a talent. Mediocrity knows nothing higher than itself, but talent instantly recognizes genius. Everyone has a purpose in life and a unique talent to give to others.

We have seen people using this term loosely quite often. To put it articulately, talent is the abilities that we are born with, which lead to a satisfactory performance both in learning and in the execution of skills. For example, the talent to negotiate, invent or communicate. There is a difference between possessing a skill and having the talent to perform that skill.

“Never stop fighting until you arrive at your destined place – the unique you. Have an aim in life, continuously acquire knowledge, work hard, and have the perseverance to realize the great life.”  – APJ Abdul Kalam

How true is this quote by Dr. Kalam? It is not just a quote; it is the philosophy of leading a great life. Never stop fighting till you are there.

Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, better known as the “Missile Man of India,” was a source of inspiration for millions around the globe. His life, work, and words continue to motivate and guide individuals, especially the youth, towards a path of success and fulfillment.

Born in a humble family, Kalam’s journey from Rameswaram to the Rashtrapati Bhavan is a testament to his indomitable spirit, unwavering determination, and immense dedication. His life story is a beacon of hope for many, proving that with hard work and perseverance, one can achieve their dreams, no matter how lofty they seem.

Working towards success can be a painstakingly long process, often leading us to give up out of despair before reaching our goal. Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was a man who taught us to dream, but what did he have to say about the path to success?

“To become ‘unique,’ the challenge is to fight the hardest battle which anyone can imagine until you reach your destination.”  – APJ Abdul Kalam

eople are divided into three categories regarding talent:

  1. Who has talent
  2. Who knows he has talent
  3. Who uses his talent

Have you ever asked yourself, what is your talent? Do you doubt if you have any? Which category do you fall into? Let us discover.

“Talent is never static. It is always growing or dying.” – Stephen King, Entertainment Weekly

It is believed that everyone has talent, whether he knows it or not.  Some people take it easy; they keep continuing the job they are doing or the business they are in and lead a happy life. The thought of spotting the talent or honing the talent never crossed their minds. When they are young and finishing their education, they know what decides the course of their career, family, and finally life.  In spite of knowing what their specialities are.

Often, they forget their talent when they choose their profession which is based merely on their educational qualification and degrees. They neglect their interest and specialization and their talent starts vanishing. But they are not worried, as they are not aware of their talent. If you are in this category, you need to change, spot your talent, hone your talent, and add value to your life.

“Everybody has talent, it’s just a matter of moving around until you’ve discovered what it is.” – George Lucas

Here, I will narrate an anecdote from my personal life, which proves how important talent is. A friend of mine, during Diwali cleaning in her house, spotted some beautifully painted diyas, handmade lanterns, and origami products that she had made many years ago. She became very nostalgic about it and thought how creative she was and what she has become now. She narrated this to me.

I advised her: Why don’t you make these products this Diwali and market them so that people can acknowledge your talent? She gave heed to my advice and started her small part-time business from home. She got an unexpected response from family and friends, and today she has a thriving business. This is the benefit of spotting talent and becoming commercially successful. But sometimes it so happens that we simply forget it.

This way we see that if you do not use things for a while, you certainly forget about them. The same happens with talent. Do you forget something that was your speciality once? Let us see how to find the gift that nature has given us.

As Buddha said, “Everyone is gifted here, but some of us never opened their package”.

Have you opened your package? If note, do it!

Finally, how do you spot your talent? You can find it in your hobbies. You may be born with some natural gift. You can find your talent in the skills acquired during education. It may be in the form of writing, speaking, programming, designing, painting, singing, or managing employees or customers. It may be decorating the home or cooking. It could be anything.

Sometimes we simply ignore our talent because it seems an ordinary thing to us. Actually, it is an extraordinary thing for you!

Go ahead, spot your talent, and be HappyHO!
