Meditation destresses. It makes us happier. And trains our mind to live in here and now. Meditation makes us grounded and calmer. It would need an entire book to bring forth the benefits of meditation.
Quite a few celebrities and power people have chosen Meditation as their preferred way to attain happiness,   to manage stress and to attain tranquillity. Here are just a few of them from a very long list:

russellbrandRussell Brand, The British stand-up comedian Russell Brand is an ardent meditation practitioner. Russell Brand, who says TM helped him stay sober, calls it “a shower for your brain.”
He says, “I do transcendental meditation, which is, I suppose, derived from Vedic or Ayurvedic principles, which is sort of Hindu principles.”

I take a little bath in it. Nothing has ever opened my eyes like Transcendental Meditation has. “And you can’t imagine what has happened in the company. People who used to have migraines, don’t. People are sleeping better. People have better relationships. People interact with other people better. It’s been fantastic,” she says.
