Whether the day has just started with its roughness or the bad is finally over, there is someone who can always make things better – Jesus. Millions have turned towards him in times so rough that the heart needs some hope and millions continue turning in his direction to this day. Here are five ways in which He can lift your spirits up during tough times.

1. He Will Bring You Calm & Peace

There’s a reason why Jesus is called The Prince Of Peace. As soon as you are done praying to Him, calm and peace shall come your way.

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

2. He Will Help You Rise

Irrespective of what it is that worries you, lighten the burden of your shoulders in front of the Lord. Hold onto your faith in Him and He shall lift your spirits very soon.

“Every person, young and old, has had his own personal experience with falling. Falling is what we mortals do. … With faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the power and hope of the restored gospel, you will be able to walk tall and continue on” (Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “You Can Do It Now!” Ensign, Nov. 2013, 57).

3. He Will Provide You With Care

The man who has gone through atonement sure does know how much someone needs warmth, comfort and care during the dark times. And He knows how to bring it to those who need it.

“Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted” (Isaiah 49:13).

4. He Will Help You See The Light

During dark times, even a single ray of hope can mean a lot to us. But often we fail to even spot this light. And this is where Jesus comes into play.

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26).

5. He Will Make You Feel Loved

You are always surrounded by Christ’s Love no matter where you are. Just remember to reach out to Him and you shall feel it.

“I have a testimony in my heart, brothers and sisters, that God, our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ know and love us individually” (Ronald A. Rasband, “One by One,” Ensign, Nov. 2000, 30).
