Lady Gaga’s honest speech at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence revealing why she once wanted to quit music has gone viral.
The star was speaking at the Emotion Revolution Summit. It was organised in partnership with her youth focused charity, Born This Way Foundation.
She stated, “I have had to make decisions. ‘Why am I unhappy? Okay, Stefani (her real name), Gaga, hybrid-person. Why are you unhappy? Why is it that you wanted to quit music years ago?'” she asked herself. “I feel sad when I’m overworked, and that I just become a money making machine, and that my passion and my creativity take a back seat; that makes me unhappy.”
She further added that it felt ‘shallow’ to spend her days ‘smiling and shaking hands’ and she stopped enjoying selling perfumes and photo shoots. In an effort to find herself again, she started saying no to things. “I have a lot more to offer than my image,” she said.
Gaga started feeling better after taking a stand. “Slowly but surely, I remembered who I am,” she continued, “Then you go home and you look in the mirror and you’re like ‘Yes, I can go to bed with you every night.’ Cause that person? I know that person. That person has balls. That person has integrity. That person just doesn’t say yes.” Happyho also provide best tarot reading services in Noida and Delhi NCR India area.
Gaga encouraged others too to speak about their emotional wellbeing. She stated, “No matter how much success you have, no matter how many opportunities, fame, fortune—no matter how many people accept you, to your face, the person that really needs to accept you is you”.
She urged people to take part in an ‘emotional revolution’ on social media to encourage others to talk about emotional health.
