A man had just gotten married and was returning home with his wife on a boat. Suddenly a storm arose. The man was a warrior but his wife grew extremely scared because of the scary nature of the situation – the boat was no shelter against the storm. However, the warrior remained calm and composed as if everything was alright.
The woman screamed at her husband, “What is wrong with you? Why aren’t you moving an inch? Both of us will not be able to make it to the shore alive, only a miracle can save us! Aren’t you terrified? Do something!”
The man laughed, took his sword out and held it against her neck. Then he asked her, “Are you afraid?”
The woman started laughing and said, “Why would I be? I know you love me and wouldn’t cause any sort of harm to me.”
He put the sword back and said, “Exactly! I know God loves me, and the sword is in His hands, and the storm is in His hands, so whatever he does it is going to be good. If we survive, good; if we don’t survive, good because everything is in the Lord’s control and he can never do any wrong.”
This is the kind of trust that one needs to have in the Almighty; it is only such kind of a trust that can transform one’s life by 360 degrees.
