Nothing happens in life that is not needed for the soul. Every event that happens or unfolds with time comes to us for a lesson, if we take the lesson right then the situation changes, but if we resist and try to bypass it, it continues. The indwelling light that is Guru wants us to rise above all our clinging and live in the spirit of true surrender to the will of Mother Divine. Only when individual wish dies, freedom happens.
