Repressing desires is not healthy. So also, indulging in desires is like a moth flying into fire. If you are convinced of your higher goal in life of living in peace and harmony inside and out, then lead a mindful life. As you meditate, your mind will be calmer, agitations will be fewer, and your actions will be driven not by subconscious programming, but by awareness of your short- term and long-term goals. Desires would not bind you, and you would be free from the tyranny of unconsciousness.
