We all wish to make our lives taste a bit sweeter, a bit happier and a bit more positive. So why wait until tomorrow for the taste to arrive on our tongue when we can have all of it today! Here are some tips to add some positivity to your life –
1. Thought – Outcome
Often, without being aware, we use our thoughts to direct our lives. Most often than not, these thoughts are negative in nature and so is their outcome. So we must start by reframing a negative statement into a more hopeful and positive one and only then we can expect our life to throw us some candies instead of lemons. For instance, telling yourself each time that you’ll perform poorly on stage, you can instead try telling yourself that you have the courage to perform in front of a large audience and accept both their applause and critique. Give yourself some credit and see how your outcome transforms!
2. Believe in Yourself
Do not wait for others to praise you in order to believe in your abilities. Do not start writing only when your best friend praises your articles. Do not start dressing up only when your boyfriend appreciates your taste in fashion. Do these things because you know you do them good. Do these things because you know that doing them makes you feel better about yourself!
3. Deal with Difficult Decisions now, not later
We all know that this later, more or less, never arrives if the decision is left to us. It arrives only when our buffer zone cannot hold the waters anymore and has to flood in order to make some space for the incoming waters. Prioritize by making the most difficult decisions in the start of the day so that you can spend the rest of the day making less hectic decisions and stay less stressed, more productive!
4. Say Yes!
Our friends ask us to come watch a play with them but we have a review to write. Our parents invite us to family dinners but we have to exercise. Our No’s are the most responsible for us not opening ourselves to new life experiences and spending most of our days in our comfort zone. So the next time someone asks you for a coffee date, before saying that but, ask yourself if you actually mean what is to come after that but.
5. Flip the Coin!
Everything in life has two sides to it. Instead of always looking at one, flip the side and take a view of the other. Explore all your options before making a decision, instead of jumping right into an option. This way you’ll make a more informed decision and know exactly why you rejected the twelve reasons for the thirteenth one. Instead of always relying on your insight, you could also ask others or check the internet to have some more facts on your palm!
Incorporate these positives into your everyday life and see the beautiful changes they bring to your plate!
