Thanks to Indian Yogis, the Buddhist Zen masters and other meditation teachers from the East, meditation has gone mainstream all over the
world. Now meditation, in the West, can be seen as complimentary to Western therapies or as an alternative option all together. Some
people think meditation is purely for relaxation, but many scientific researches and studies have already proved that regular practice of
meditation lowers blood pressure and increases learning capabilities. Besides, meditation can make you free from toxic emotions, such as
anger, violence, hatred and jealousy which are the major causes of ill-health and heart-attacks. And the new age psychologists admit that
hate-attacks can cause heart-attacks also. Happyho also provide best Meditation classes and yoga classes in Noida and Delhi NCR India area.
The heart specialists in the West have been suggesting: If you have heart problems, definitely check with your regular doctor. But also
consult some meditation teacher, as that can unburden your heart.
Throughout our life, our heart has to go through so many jolts and shocks, and all kinds of emotionally charged situations at home and
work places, that it is really amazing how it copes with all these unhealthy situations. We become very sensitive and vulnerable, full of
so much fear that any ordinary negative situation may scare us so much to make our heart sink. Uplifting and treating such a heart can become a really expensive situation. It is really costly to have a good treatment for sick heart and depressed mind. Not many people can
As a result, some Western Government hospitals and State Universities in the West are looking for the alternative methods of healing and
giving priority to deeper scientific research in meditation. But as far as the East is concerned, it has known the magic of meditation all along and has been practicing it for thousands of years. Though somewhere along the line, it seemed to have forgotten it. In the ancient times, the guru was also called a Vaidya, a physician. Both Gautama the Buddha and Guru Nanakdev and many other enlightened
mystics did call themselves the Vaidyas.
It is said about the Buddha that in one of his discourses, it is said about the Buddha: “I am a Brahman, responsive to requests,
open-handed, bearing my last body, an unsurpassed doctor & surgeon.”
Thanks to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and many other Buddhist masters, the Buddha teachings are spreading in the West like the wild fire. And
the West has also become very much interested in scientific research into yoga and meditation for healing the people, as it is not so
Meditation is quite simple. But our life has become so complex that simple things don’t attract us any more. There lies the whole problem.
Let’s take an example out of our daily life. When we try to log on to our computers and don’t get the internet connectivity, we really
become irritated with the long wait. We don’t know what to do with this gap. Some people may go out to do a smoking pranayaam, which is a
slow poison and harmful. The real healthy alternative is Breathe and Meditate!
Close your eyes. Breathe. Watch your breath going in. Go as deep with it as possible and see where it takes a turn and come back with it.
Breathing will energise your whole system and closing your eyes for a few moments will refresh your being.
Osho elaborates: The word “meditation” and the word “medicine” come from the same root. Medicine means that which heals the physical, and
meditation means that which heals the spiritual. Both are healing powers. Another thing to be remembered: the word “healing” and the
word “whole” also come from the same root. To be healed simply means to be whole, not missing anything. Another connotation of the word —
the word “holy” — also comes from the same root. Healing, whole, holy, are not different in their root. Meditation heals, makes you whole;
and to be whole is to be holy.
