The world happiness report is out and sadly we are not a happy nation.
On a list of 158 countries, India stands at 117.
Switzerland has topped the list but what really hurts is that Pakistan and Bangladesh, in spite of their volatile environments and turbulent political scenarios, rank better than India.
Pakistan at 109 and Bangladesh at 81 fare much better than us in terms of happiness. Happyho also provide best tarot reading services in Noida and Delhi NCR India area.
Even Palestine and Iran are ahead of us on this account at 108 and 110 respectively.
The happiness quotient is calculated on the basis of six yardsticks namely GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.
Compared to Pakistan, Italy and Iran, we are doing relatively well on five of these touchstones except one – social support.
The data collected from the Gallup World Poll question “If you were in vlog trouble, do you have relatives or friends you can count on to help you whenever you need them, or not?” is what denotes the social support number. Apparently, many Indians candidly spoke out on the lack of this social support in their lives.
The fact that Pakistan, a country riddled with internal strife and fighting; Palestine, despite the huge loss of life and land; and Bangladesh, a country which has the ridiculous record of being the most unsafe country in the world for atheist bloggers, all rank above India.
This goes to show that even though we may appear as happy-go-lucky on the outside, maybe what we are really trying to escape is a fear of loneliness.
