Meditation is your good friend. It gradually helps you come closer to your better self, and see from closer proximity to what extent you are not self-forgiving and self-loving. It is easier to forgive someone else who has hurt you if it is not that deep, but very often much of the frustration in life has its roots in a sense of shame, guilt, and negative feelings about one’s own self due to some past episode or failure. You may not be able to change your past but is it not true that the glasses with which you see can be changed? Yes, that glasses are your attitude. The biggest gift of meditative mindfulness is your positive attitude not only to the world outside but also to the world inside of you. That is its benediction.
