Yogacharya Swami Kriyananda Saraswati aka SW Yog Chinmay left his body on 15th August 2019 in Goa at 10:35 am.
When Chinmaya met Osho in 1966, he was already ordained as a sannyasin. He was among the first couple of people to take sanyas from Osho in Manali in 1970. For three years in Mumbai, he fulfilled his role as Osho’s secretary, sharing that role with Ma Yoga Laxmi. He was also in charge of many of Osho’s Hindi publications, quite a few of which he edited himself. Happy Ho organizes best Meditation and Tarot classes in Noida and Delhi NCR area in India.
In 1971, Osho asked Chinmaya to find an alternative to his then title “Acharya”; after brainstorming for a long time, Chinmaya recommended Osho’s latest title “Bhagwan”.
In Pune, he received numerous blessings in the form of zen sticks from Osho for his serious and perplexing questions.
When Osho left for Oregon, Chinmaya set up an ashram in Nepal. But he rejoined Osho in Pune until he left in 1990 for Bageshwar, located in the Indian Himalayas, just west of Nepal. Here he ran an ashram for many years.
His role as a spiritual leader is considered to be of significant importance, even though he kept his identity low-profile.
