A graduate of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, Bhavana joined the corporate world starting with Consulting at The Boston Consulting Group, followed by almost 13 years in the Manufacturing & Engineering sector with the US MNC Cummins India Limited. Setting up and running businesses with expertise in the areas of leadership, strategic thinking, sales and marketing, Bhavana enjoys working with people across the spectrum of hierarchies and organizations.

She currently lives with her family- Mother, spouse and daughter (in the order of arrival into her life)- in the Maximum city Mumbai. Bhavana serves as an Independent Director on the Boards of several public companies while also actively mentoring and coaching many more to tread the path less trodden- because she knows that nothing is impossible when one puts one’s mind to it. An anomaly in an engineering and male-dominated manufacturing sector, Bhavana went onto run businesses as their first woman leader.

A childhood hobby of dance saw her obtain a professional degree in the Indian Classical dance form of Kathak.. a passion that stays with her till date. Another hobby much-encouraged by her late Father, saw Bhavana dabbling in writing – about her reflections and experiences, connecting dots, analyzing behaviours – her way of connecting with friends and family on a deeper plane. Why just them when she believes that not only does this provide her with the much-needed catharsis, it also does enable the reader a glimpse into another life- relating with the similarities, and reflecting upon the differences- experiencing a strange relief, an unlikely camaraderie.

Having enjoyed reading about ordinary people with ordinary lives—Bhavana does hope that her readers- her extended family and friends – do revel in her writings.
