EQ and HQ

Gross Happiness quotient (HQ) of an organisation is directly in proportion to its Gross Emotional Quotient (EQ).

In his book Emotional Intelligence: Why It Can Matter More Than IQ, Daniel Goleman defines EI as the “capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions well in ourselves and our relationships.”

Research has proved that often an individual’s Emotional Intelligence or emotional Quotient is far more reflective of his/her success than IQ. It is the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power of emotions to enhance productivity.

Research indicates that it is possible to enhance the emotional Intelligence of a group of employees – but of course it cannot be done in a day.

Happiness Quotient, in some ways can be considered to be the offshoot of Emotional Quotient. Organisations, now are paying special attention to employees ‘happiness quotient’ with the dual objective of maximising their results and enhancing employee wellness.

Both employees and employer are equally responsible for happiness at work – while providing a conducive environment is the organisation’s responsibility, employees too need to come to the office with a positive attitude, and a keenness to work and grow.

Happy Ho does not claim to increase an organisation’s EQ and HQ in a one-day workshop. We, however, firmly believe that with a sustained effort, there definitely can be a positive impact. We have weekly as well as scatterd prorgrammes in this direction.
