Most of our pains of life come from instinctive resistance. Anything that challenges our belief, our set conditions, brings a quick reaction from inside. But as you refine your mind with meditation, silence, and practice of calmness, you will no longer resist but first pause, breathe and then calmly decide only that which is in your and others’ best interest. After all, it is not what others do to us, but what we do to ourselves that decides our happy or unhappy states of mind.
