Being single is a variation of being an individual. A word of caution here: Do not create a self-fulfilling prophecy of unhappiness. Secondly, maintain a safe distance from so-called-fiends who believe you are in a pitiable stage of life and need sympathy. Far from it.
Key to being single but not lonely is to start your life yourself. A big mistake many people make is to wait for someone to come and start their life. Once you are comfortable in your own company and enjoy it, you would continue to be happy for the rest of your life, irrespective of being single or not being single.
